Simulator: Digital I/O

Top  Previous  Next

The "Digital I/O" Window is a direct simulation of the (up to) 16 Digital Inputs and Outputs on the RTCU platform.

The buttons "1/0" on the left side of the "Input 1..16" can be clicked to toggle a Digital Input on and off.

The 16 red LEDs show the current state of each of the 16 Digital Inputs.

The 16 green LEDs show the current state of each of the 16 Digital Outputs.

The names of the individual I/Os used in the application are shown to the right of each I/O to help remember which I/Os are used for which signal in the application.

Hovering the mouse pointer over one of the names will show the comment placed in the application for that specific I/O.

On the left side of the window is a list of devices that contribute to the total number of Digital I/Os available (see Project View for more info).

The "Onboard" device represents the RTCU device itself, while the rest of the devices are for IO extension modules that have been defined in the project.

If a device does not support the full 16 Inputs and Outputs, then the unsupported I/O will be disabled.
