This section contains functions for working directly with the input and outputs.
High-Speed IOThe High-Speed IO functions use interrupts to monitor the on-board input signals and reads the state significantly faster than it is possible to do directly from VPL. This can be used e.g. to read incremental encoders. See also the PCT function.
Note: Only one type of high-speed IO can be used on each signal at a time, including PCT. Note: Generating too fast input on too many input signals for too long a time may affect the performance. Make sure to check the performance with a realistic workload.
The following category has support for High-Speed IO:
Memory I/OThe memory I/O provides access to a number of memory registers that can also be accessed directly from MODBUS when running in slave mode, see also MODBUS commands.
